PayProff A/S is a Danish provider of escrow services founded in 2019. An escrow account is a special insured deposit account that is protected against insolvency in which the funds of a deal/ transaction can rest securely until the terms of that deal have been fulfilled. Think of it as a trusted third party that keeps the money safe to protect both buyer and seller.
Your safety is PayProff’s top priority. PayProff performs identity verifications for all users before they are allowed on the platform. Moreover, PayProff runs robust anti-money laundering checks to identify and block any unusual or suspicious behaviour. PayProff holds a

Is my money safe with PayProff?
Yes, the security of your deals is paramount for PayProff. The funds of all PayProff users are kept safely in insolvency-proof accounts with Banking Circle. All DKK payouts are processed by Banking Circle.
Below you have a few illustrative examples of how PayProff works:
EXAMPLE 1 : You buy a laptop from someone on DBA or Facebook Marketplace INITIATE : You agree with the seller on the payment via PayProff. You create an account on PayProff and send an invite to the seller. The seller creates a PayProff account and accepts your invite. TRANSFER : You deposit the agreed amount of money to the PayProff account via bank transfer, credit card or Mobilepay. You will get instructions about how to do that in your PayProff account. As soon as the money is received, both the seller and the buyer are notified. DELIVER : Now the seller sends you the laptop. They can attach the tracking code and the receipt from the transportation company. DISBURSE : Once you receive the laptop and you are happy with the product, you can release the money through your PayProff account. A confirmation will be sent to both parties that the money has now been transferred to the seller. Notice that once the buyer has agreed to release the money, the action is final. *if something is wrong with the laptop you received, the money will be kept in the escrow account until you and the seller are in agreement, or until the the issue is legally clarified. If you want and both agree to it, you can adjust the price. **if you pick up the laptop in person, you need to click on the “Release payment” button when you have it in your possession. EXAMPLE 2 : You are a craftsman/ handyman, and a client hires you to build her a new bathroom after finding you on a website like Håndværker INITIATE : You agree with the client on the payment via PayProff. You create an account on PayProff and send an invite to the buyer. She creates a PayProff account and accepts your invite. TRANSFER : The buyer deposits the agreed amount of money to the PayProff account via bank transfer, credit card or Mobilepay. She will get instructions about how to do that in her PayProff account. As soon as the money is received, both you and the buyer are notified. DELIVER : Now you need to start building the bathroom for the buyer. DISBURSE : Once the bathroom is finished and the buyer is happy with the result, she can release the money through her PayProff account. A confirmation will be sent to both parties that the money has now been transferred to the craftsman. Notice that once the buyer has agreed to release the money, the action is final. *if something is wrong with the service you provided to the buyer, the money will be kept in the escrow account until you and the buyer are in agreement, or until the the issue is legally clarified. If you want to and both agree to it, you can adjust the price. EXAMPLE 3 : You find an apartment on in Copenhagen Boligportal.dk INITIATE: You agree with the landlord on the payment via PayProff. You create an account on PayProff and send an invite to the landlord. You can attach the signed contract to the deal if you want to. The landlord creates a PayProff account and accepts your invite. TRANSFER : You deposit the agreed amount of money to the PayProff account via bank transfer, credit card or Mobilepay. You will get instructions about how to do that in your PayProff account. As soon as the money is received, both parties are notified. This shows the landlord you have the money and you are going to release it once you move in. DELIVER: Typically in this step you would receive the key of your new apartment, and physically move in. DISBURSE : Once you have moved in, finished your inspection of the apartment and you’re happy with how everything looks like, you can release the money through your PayProff account. A confirmation will be sent to both parties that the money has now been transferred to the landlord. Notice that once the buyer has agreed to release the money, the action is final. *if something is wrong with the service you provided to the buyer, the money will be kept in the escrow account until you and the buyer are in agreement, or until the the issue is legally clarified. What are the benefits as a buyer?
As a buyer, you are assured your money rests securely with PayProff. Think of PayProff as a guardian of the deal - a trusted third party that keeps your money safe. This protects you against various scams and unpleasant situations where you have payed for a product or a service, but you haven’t received the promised goods/services or are’t happy with what you have received. In many of these situations it is very difficult, if not impossible to recover your money. If you use PayProff it will b easier to recover your money in such a situation. This also makes the seller or service provider more responsible when it comes to sending you the product in a good condition or delivering the service you both agreed on.
What are the benefits as a seller?
As a seller, you are assured that the buyer actually has the money, and they show the willingness to pay before you have sent the product or delivered the service. This protects you against various scams and situations where you send a product or deliver a service, but the buyer does not have the money or does not want to pay you after all. You also have the security of knowing the buyer will not be able to just retract the funds without your consent. The only way in which the buyer can retract the funds without your consent is if PayProff receives a court order to do so. As a seller, PayProff helps use reduce your risk of not getting paid for the product or service you delivered.
Escrow is to the process of using a third, neutral party that is tasked with holding funds before they are transferred from the buyer to the seller, until the seller has delivered the agreed goods or services. This increases the trust between two parties, and solves the issue about which party should pay or deliver the goods first. Online escrow has been on the rise as a way to increase the security of transfers for various products and services like mobile phones, laptops, cars, jewellery and real-state.

In which countries can PayProff be used?
As of June 2021, PayProff can be used only by private individuals residing in Denmark.
Which currencies does PayProff support?
As of June 2021, PayProff is available only in DKK.
How do I start using PayProff?
If you want to start using PayProff you need to provide us with the typical signup details like full name, email address, phone number etc. It is also mandatory to verify your identity. For Danish users this means you need to user NemID.
How do I create my first deal?
Once you have signed up as a registered user, you click “Create transaction” from the main screen and input all the details of the deal (the amount, who pays the fee, when do you expect the money to be released etc.)
How do I invite the buyer or the seller to the deal?
When you are creating your deal you will be required to input the email address of your partner. They will receive an invite link to their email address.
How can I join or accept an escrow invite?
When you receive the invite in your email address, follow the link which will take you to the PayProff portal. If you do not have a PayProff account you need to create one, and only then you will be able to join/ accept the escrow deal.
Do I automatically accept the invite when I click on the link?
Do not worry, you will not accept the invite when you click on the invite link from your email. You can accept it only after you have logged in to your PayProff account, and after you have reviewed the deal.
Yes, you can simply reject the deal when you review it the first time.
Can I cancel the deal after I have accepted it?
Yes, you can cancel the deal after you have accepted it, however the other party needs to agree as well for the cancellation to be approved in the system.
How do I transfer the money to PayProff?
The available payment methods are: bank transfer, soon also in VISA, Mastercard, Dankort and Mobilepay.
For bank transfers you will be provided with all the bank details and reference number that you need to input when you make the transfer. Please notice that if you do not insert the correct reference number delays can occur as our system will not be able to reconcile your payment straight away. Why am I being asked extra security questions?
In order to comply with regulatory requirements, we might have to ask you a few extra questions. This is normal procedure to make sure we understand how you want to use our services and it helps us fight financial crime.
Why does PayProff need to verify my identity? What is Know Your Customer (KYC)?
PayProff is committed to provide a safe and secure environment. Moreover, we have a legal obligation to know who our customers are. This means that if you are private individual we will need to perform an identity verification with NemID in Denmark. More options about identity verification both for private individuals and companies inside and outside of Denmark will be made available in Q3 2021.
3DSecure is a security mechanism used by credit card companies to prevent the misuse of your credit card in the event of loss or theft. 3DSecure is active at most banks. If this is not the case, please contact your bank or publisher of your credit card to activate 3DSecure. Often the activation is also possible via your online banking portal.
How do I make a price adjustment?
If you want to make a price adjustment, you have to suggest it to your partner and they have to accept it in order for the price adjustment to be registered. If the price is higher, the buyer will have to transfer the difference.
Why don’t I receive emails from PayProff?
Depending on your spam filter and email provider, the emails we send you might end up in your spam folder. Please double check there to find them. If you have any issues write us at

We need your bank details to send you the funds or to refund you if needed. This also mans that you do not have to share your bank details with your deal partner.

firstname.lastname@example.org What is the difference between the manual payout and automatic payout?
If you choose automatic payout, the funds will be transferred to the seller after the specified number of days. The seller has to agree to the automatic payout period when they first accept the deal. The manual payout means that the buyer will release the funds themselves once the product or service has been delivered.
How do I release the funds?
As a buyer you can release the funds after the seller has delivered the product or service to you if you are happy with the delivery. You can do it by pressing “Release money”.
